The legs are hurting, back is troubling and there is drowsiness in eyes (maybe a result of too much vodka + beer in last few days: D)
But the trip to Khajuraho & Orchha was fun and refreshing, Beautiful places especially Orchha. Wait for detailed account of the trip and photos. Till then, you can enjoy the panoramic view of sunset at Orchha across Betwa river.
I have been thinking about this for a while now, what is your say on it…………
Does our perception about a person’s creative work changes after knowing that person?
What might be “ok and nice” before we know him/her changes to “good and excellent” after knowing him/her …………………………….
Till then, let the life be on a freeway !!!

ok...should i first compliment you on your pic or answer the question. I'll answer the question first...honestly at times i feel that people do change their opinions about someone's work once they start sharing a personal eqation with them. And this can be a bad thing. BEcause constructive criticism is essential for any artist to better his/her work.
I am not too away from folly. I find myself getting from nice to bad....:) I just get more critical if i personally know the person. What's more....i start to dig deeper...I am sure you know that!!!
And btw...the pic looks awesome when enlarged....especially the skyline, bathed in red...this looks so....surreal...I am eagerly waiting for the other snaps.......
hmm... good you could think and take a few decisions...
decisions are always good to take... they take your mind away from being a pendulum atleast...
and about knowing the person and changing the perception... it happens... i have started appreciating you more after i started talking to you... so will not go too far to agree to what you said...
Oh great pic ..sply the colors ..lovely n I m looking forward for few more pics ..:)
What a wonderful Question this is ..Intact i was thinking about writing a post on it ..but i chucked that idea ..
Creativity is combination of your heart and mind therefore beauty of ur heart reflects in your work.. But I seriously believe that Creativity is not related to a person’s personal interaction..
But on contrary I met few people here who used to think that I am good painter BUT then their interest become dead..And I figured out interesting reasons … I decline cup of coffee thing… their friend don think I am good enough … as a person they don like me …
So it basically depends..how much honesty u show while complimenting your friend as well as foe
beautiful panorama :)
i believe that our perception about someone's creative line of work changes after we got to know him/her a little more.
once it happens, we can actually relate to that person's mood / state-of-mind when s/he presented something.
earlier, it might only be a 'good (or bad)piece of work' as we might be seeing it merely as a spectator. so we just see 'what' the work is. in abstract terms.
after hving known the person, we start looking at other dimensions in his/her work. looking beyond the 'what' thing... such as: why s/he made it? how s/he was feeling like when s/he wrote/ painted/ clicked something? how far can his/her piece of work reflect his/her mood and all?
this, i guess, adds depth to how we do percieve someone's work. it can also change our perception about a person's work.
and why only work, it might change our opinion about the person too :)
aur jayada vodka + beer mat lo, abhi new year party honi baaki hai, uske liye bhi kuch rakho ! :P
To your question...mostly it does change. It's human I guess.
And the picture is lovely as usual. :-)
Boy - that's an awesome shot. I am serious we should talk about that in detail man...yeah yeah, now you'd say you don't know what I'm talking about :|
Urm the question - I just know one feels at ease when you can discuss their work in anyway you'd like - that's always an advantage. And its natural anyway, I guess. What brings such things to your mind? :O
The picture is beautiful..I love sunsets, and this one is captivating.
To answer your question, I think if you know someone...your answer when queried about their work becomes more generous. But personally I try and be as frank as possible. Probably because at some level I have battled with this issue already. Being part of an industry where creativity is the constant running thread, I have often found myself working with designers, photographers, artists, authors etc. who have gone on to become friends. But it certainly goes to our credit that we are able to leave our friendship outside when we start work on a new project. Then it's all about bringing out the best material possible for the book/ad campaign/ publicity material. Your love or friendship or affection for the other person doesn't count...and it better not.
i had been to orcha recently and accidently,,,we went to jhansi for taking interviews and we expected to have no time to go around, but i had also never heard about orcha..So i did not take my camera,,and surely missed that opportunity,,,the place is also quite messed up,,it can developed excellently..feels sad how in india we r ruining these beautiful things....
objectivity in perception,,is very hard to achieve. What might be OK, might turn bad when we get to know that person :-) or vice versa.. Also beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, its just a perception and it is influenced by ur environment, mood, etc.
some uncanny similarity in appearance to angkor vat
the pic is really good. As far as perceptions changing after knowng the person...to a certain extent yes...but then as we get to know the person more and more start to interact with them criticism also comes through. Theres no harm in getting a critique from others.
Hey good writing man.I think you have got great talent in writing daily experinces in an interesting way.Congrats..
