Do You ?

Do you like the songs because of the usual reasons (music, melody, lyrics, poetry etc)

or

Do you like the songs because of the mood you are in ? Once you are out of that particular phase, those songs dont hold the same interest any more.

First line of the second option for me...

Most of th times, I listen to perticular song because of the mood i am in...

early mornings, afternoons, early evenings, night drive back homes, sunday afternoons, saturday evenings, long drives, long journeys have a set of songs...

i can however never hear the ghazals...

i like a song because it reflects my mood of the times.
once i m out of it, that particular song fades out; until, of course,i get back into that particular mood again... then i replay that song to match my mood :)

Both. But for me, lyrics matter A LOT. Stuff like Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, U2 or Jethro Tull immediately mean so much.

Otherwise if something like Dream Theatre is on, who cares! :P

By the way, what have you been listening to?

Oh and I've been playing Led Zeppelin and Three Days Grace on the loop. Check out their lyrics! They mean so much.. =)

I like the songs because of music.. i love rythm.. even instrumental ones are nice :) i dont particularly know the mood of a song.. either i like one or not..
I cant listen to ghazals and those heavy stuff, cos they are low on background beats, melody is nice but there's just no particular rythm to those songs..
vaise why this question?

I like the music I can relate to.

Sometimes the mood causes the choice of song and sometimes the song causes a change of mood.

Neither.
Because of the memory they rekindle.

Both.

I think I like the songs because of the usual reasons only. I can say this because,if I am in a bad mood sometimes, my favourite songs can cheer me up. And, they obviously make me more cheerful when I am already in a good mood.

I like songs for the memories they elicit. Certain songs like pink floyd are too painful cause of ex-boyfriend, but in time they will take me back to that moment. Lyrics used to matter a lot, but now its the music too...
