Cast(e) Your Future !!!

A three point guide on how to have a good future in India for your kids and siblings :-
  1. At the time of elections, demand for a lower status (as per social strata of Indian society), make the leaders promise it to you.
  2. After elections are over, wait for sometime then demand for status change to SC/ST/OBC
  3. If Govt. doesnt agree, then create a ruckus all across the state (demonstrations, destroy public property, stop all kind of services etc etc)

This will surely result into a community getting the desired status, which will open multiple avenues for coming generations because of the so called different categories in all the educational institutions and govt. jobs.

Probably India is the only country, where people aspire to be in lowest classes of the society. That's what happens when you base the seats in Educational Institutions and Govt jobs on different kind Quotas.

PS: I will try to be regular on this blog again :)

I dont agree with the side of story presented...na na no debates on socialisation here just simple proverb...their is no smoke without fire.

The outburst which you are referring here may be just nothing but a splinter which may now have been simmerrrrring over years in the minds of oppressed class/claste

..to me its just nothing but the "provoked" effect which yes i agree the politicians are cashing on.

how can we advocate so strongly for something when we dont even know how it is to be "oppressed and suppressed" for centuries.

Stopping all services and breaking public property seems like such a cool idea. I think I will try and do it next time someone delays serving me coffee, or pushes against me, or doesn't read my blog.

I agree with Smita. There are things that have been happening in our country and in the minds of the people for a very long time now. What is coming out in Rajasthan, Punjab or anywhere in the country is stuff that didn't develop overnight. Sure it got politicised crazily with sad repercussions but there have been insecurities and more existing for a long time.
There are political parties that fight like cats and dogs, but at the end of the day...their ideologies are bending towards the same things now.
'Provoked' reactions in most cases, as rightly pointed out and 'unheard oppressed' in others.
India is in a sad state but the root is deeper than what you're pointing at.

@kanu
lets see :)

@prashant
halla abt it.....dekhte hai.....ek morcha against all dharnas.....

@woodie
i hope i wont be a target, i always comment :)

@smita and Aarbee
the post was w.r.t to whats happening in Rajasthan......wat you both are mentioning is true to some extent but i would like you people to really go and find out whether gurjars have been the opressed party in past or not.....

moreover even if they were (which they were not, atleast not for ST status.....just for eg most the blueline buses that u see in delhi are run by gurjars, the land banks of noida and other posh villages of del are owned by them) is ransacking public property the way to ask for something..........

and taking my point forwad........by saying that award the certain status to oppressed class : u basically agree the thot process of quota system in society........then why were u against arjun singh decision (just because its was hampering ur career at that moment and its not at this moment)

India should do away with all kind of quota system, if the govt is really serious abt these communities then there are much better ways to help them progress rather than fix them a quota and forget abt them.........and thats what has been inculcated into the mentality of indian people in general, who want to enjoy all the benefits without putting up much of hard work.........

my main point behind this post was the line written in italic

Probably India is the only country, where people aspire to be in lowest classes of the society.

Ok, even if you talk about only gurjars, the ones you are talking about are the so called 'creamy layer' in this community too. For sure, they don't need any help.
You're right that going the quota way and then forgetting about things is not the way to go. And that is not what I am supporting either. These people need UPLIFTMENT.
I opposed Arjun Singh because of the same reason, not because a degree was at stake for me. At the end of the day, I just need one seat for myself and I don't really care about the rest. The point even then was that the people who would get the benefits are the elites of that community while small villagers in MP,etc are still deprived of primary education.
Ransacking,etc is obviously not done and I said earlier as well that these are sad repercussions.

All I'm trying to point at is the reality that is behind what is obvious.
So your italicized words also become relative.

@aarbee
in every community/ caste there are people who are in creamy layer and those who are deprived......so including everyone into ST/SC is not the solution.............

UPLIFTMENT doesnt come with having reservation (creating shortcuts)....its come with enabling that person with resources to reach the desired level

And I completely agree with you.
No debate on that one. :)

You are so right.
The way those SCs and STs are ruling our country!! I'll be thankful if I get admitted to one college in future.

I hope we'll be seeing ur posts on this blog every seven days, and not every seven months ( from now on). :-)

@Smita
I agree that the OBCs, SCs and STs have been oppressed for centuries. But, when it comes to admission to educational institutions, seats shud never be reserved for them. Because competition is competition. In such cases, merit shud be the only basis of judgement.

Yeh kab update kiya bey!

You're right man. Many people in this country take advantage of the fact that being an SC or ST can do so many things to one's status/lifestyle. Just how sad. If some people actually get down to helping them, many will start exploiting that too. Sweet lord. I wish there was none of this ridiculous system.
